How to improve your homepage to keep pace with changes is always a demanding question. Do you upgrade what you already have or do you replace it entirely with a new site.

Of particular note is the page load speeds which has a much greater impact with Google than it has in the past. Make sure this is covered in any review.
Being mobile responsive is now a must have for any website. If you want to get found on mobile devices, then you will have to be mobile responsive.
